Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Detection and Response Training, Georgia
TMC provides over 100 translator/interpreters whose duties include but are not limited to interpreting from English to Georgian and Georgian into English, generally in informal situations, but involving in-depth professional exchanges on a wide variety of subjects. The mode of interpretation is usually consecutive, i.e. the interpreter takes notes as a person is speaking and interprets from those notes at regular intervals supporting Marine Forces Europe (MARFOREUR) working in conjunction with The Georgian Deployment Program which is a two-year training program with a goal to increase interoperability between the Georgian Army and International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF). The training consists of four six-month rotations designed to train eight Georgian infantry battalions in counter insurgency tactics, techniques and procedures in preparation for their deployment to Afghanistan in support of ISAF.
TMC managed the provision of in-country staffing, logistics, training support, and other professional services and oversaw renovation and construction of Biological Safety Level 2 (BSL-2) and Biological Safety Level 3 (BSL-3) capable laboratories. TMC recruited, screened, and hired more than 140 local national (LN) employees who served as dedicated full-time local staff. These staff members were specialists in environmental and structural engineering, warehousing and logistics, industrial hygiene and safety, biological sciences, and other administrative and linguistic disciplines. Our performance under this contract has consistently been deemed as excellent, demonstrating our ability to set up and sustain large-scale operations in challenging locales in addition to our capacity to ensure rapid response to an unlimited range of task support requirements.
