For the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute on Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) TMC provides professional level administrative, clinical medical research, and laboratory support to advance program goals to engage and train host-country science personnel in the identification and diagnosis of Especially Dangerous Pathogens (EDPs).
In Georgia and Azerbaijan, USAMRIID-led teams of local scientists employed by TMC conduct bio-essay studies, focused on influenza and other pathogens common and particularly active in the region.
In Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, teams of highly-qualified local national scientists employed by TMC train medical and laboratory personnel employed by national public health systems in laboratory safety and security, the use of advance laboratory equipment and pathogen tracking systems, and advanced pathogen analysis methodologies.
